The Commercial Manager will lead business development initiatives across Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina, focusing on specialized logistics solutions for liquid cargo through ISO tank containers. This role is critical in identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing strategic commercial relationships and ensuring operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will work autonomously, think strategically, and thrive in a high-specialization, fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina.
- Design and execute regional commercial strategies to grow market presence.
- Prospect and establish strong relationships with clients in the liquid cargo, chemical and bulk sectors.
- Negotiate commercial terms with clients and key suppliers, particularly shipping lines.
- Optimize operational efficiency, with a strong focus on minimizing empty tank returns.
- Collaborate closely with operations and finance teams based in USA to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
- Maintain CRM systems and generate commercial reports; advanced Excel proficiency required.
- Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and trade shows across the region.
- Manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation and quotation to deal closure and post-sales follow-up.
- Operate with high autonomy, accountability and self-organization, aligned with the company’s decentralized structure.
- Adapt to diverse customer profiles, from high-volume commodity clients to specialized cargo operators.
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity, providing insights to refine commercial strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Transport / Logistics Engineering or related fields.Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial roles, ideally within international logistics, shipping lines or bulk liquid transport (ISO Tanks or Flexibags).Proven track record in developing business across Latin America, particularly in Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and / or Argentina.Experience negotiating with shipping lines and managing supplier relationships.Demonstrated success in opening markets or driving commercial growth in technical or niche sectors.Strong interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills.Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken) – mandatory.
