Human Resources Team Lead
Join Rio Tinto as an HR Team Lead based in Santiago, Chile, leading people initiatives in a global mining and materials company.
About the Role
Reporting to the HR Manager People Experience, you will :
- Lead and champion safety initiatives, promoting a “Zero harm” culture.
- Manage delivery of projects and initiatives on the People Plan.
- Provide HR policy and program feedback to the HR Business Partner and stakeholders.
- Partner with HR Business Partner colleagues and leaders to design people initiatives that support business plans.
- Develop performance of the advisory team in alignment with Rio Tinto values.
- Coaching leaders to build effective workplace relationships and enhance people management skills.
- Implement HR reporting and metrics, escalating emerging issues and using data to drive decisions.
- Build employee relations capability across the business and support strategy within the ER framework.
- Contribute to collective agreements, guiding the collective bargaining process.
- Act as a trusted advisor on change management, workforce planning, and cultural alignment.
What You Will Need
To succeed in this role you will have :
Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, or related field.Minimum 7 years of generalist HR or labour relations experience, ideally in heavy industry.Experience monitoring and interpreting evolving labour legislation and regulatory frameworks.Demonstrated leadership experience.Strong communication skills in Spanish and English. Portuguese highly desirable.Excellent understanding of union‑led labour relations practices and collective bargaining.Experience delivering HR projects.Benefits and Compensation
