Overview
6 Month Secondment Opportunities for pharmacists to join the Medicine pharmacy service in NHS Fife. Roles include supporting Neurology and Ophthalmology, with potential evening, weekend and public holiday service provision as part of the wider pharmacy team. Fixed term posts to help optimise service delivery and reduce patient waiting times. You will assist in the management and review of patients, ideally working as an independent prescriber with a defined patient caseload in the outpatient setting, to maximise pharmaceutical input into patient care.
You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, appropriate and clinically effective use of medicines. This includes communicating highly complex information to clinicians, nurses, non-medical prescribers, carers and patients, and implementing and monitoring clinical pathways for treatments, including review of treatment in line with national guidance. You will contribute to clinical governance, education and training, medicine efficiencies, clinical risk and audit. There may be opportunity for additional hours within the medical specialties pharmacy team for those interested.
Non medical prescribing qualification is desirable.
Responsibilities

- Potentially undertake additional hours within the medical specialties pharmacy team.
Qualifications and attributes
Dynamic, enthusiastic, compassionate and able to work independently or as part of a team.Proven track record of service development and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.Experience in a clinical environment and in staff management.Non medical prescribing qualification is desirable.UK Employment and Compliance
