We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join EPAM’s team and contribute to managing, operating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure environments.
This role primarily focuses on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and involves provisioning, monitoring, governance, and support activities. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, expertise in automation using tools like Terraform, and the ability to resolve incidents effectively while driving improvements in operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Provision and maintain GCP cloud resources while ensuring scalability and security best practices
- Collaborate on managing GKE cluster operating system upgrades, container OS version libraries, and patching activities
- Execute cloud onboarding processes and infrastructure updates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
- Monitor logs and metrics to identify performance and availability issues, performing initial diagnosis and resolution or escalating as needed
- Troubleshoot recurring problems and contribute to developing automation and runbooks to enhance response times
- Assist in enforcing backup schedules and policies, validating successful restoration of backups, and resolving backup‑related issues
- Support access management processes, troubleshoot permission‑related issues, and assist with tagging compliance for governance
- Help implement automation for tagging enforcement and resource monitoring
- Collaborate with customer teams to resolve infrastructure‑related issues and provide timely insights
- Contribute to knowledge management by maintaining and creating operational manuals, runbooks, and scripts
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related roleHands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments, including provisioning and maintaining resourcesFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automating cloud environmentsProficiency in cloud monitoring tools and troubleshooting performance or availability issuesUnderstanding of governance processes, tagging frameworks, and access management principlesBasic knowledge of containerized environments like GKE and Docker, including patch management processesStrong problem‑solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teamsExcellent communication and documentation skills for creating operational runbooks and manualsFluent English skills, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higherBenefits
