Overview
Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Orthopaedics) sought to lead and develop the orthopaedic physiotherapy service. The team delivers high-quality, evidence-based care across elective, trauma and a dedicated hip fracture ward, with potential involvement in paediatric orthopaedic cases. The core service is based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, with additional elective day surgery coverage at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. Staff work across locations to meet changing service needs while adhering to local and national standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead, showcase and develop the orthopaedic physiotherapy service to respond to changing service needs.
- Provide high-standard, evidence-based care across elective, trauma and hip fracture wards; extend orthopaedic physiotherapy to paediatric cases as required.
- Support service improvement by engaging in local and national projects, audits, research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the wider orthopaedic team and share specialist knowledge through education and training with the multidisciplinary team.
- Support 7-day service delivery, including providing an evening service as part of the rota.
- Work with the Team Lead to ensure service provision remains aligned with standards and guidance.
- Participate in training and development opportunities; involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Qualifications and Skills
