NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Pain Service – the largest of its kind in Scotland. Serving a diverse population of 1.2 million, our multidisciplinary team is committed to helping individuals live well with chronic pain through compassionate, evidence-based care.

As a key member of the Pain Leadership Team, you will be the Clinical Lead for the Pain Management Program and provide psychology leadership for the secondary care psychology services. You will play a central role in shaping and delivering psychological services across NHSGGC’s Pain Service. You will provide expert clinical input, lead service development initiatives and lead a clinical team offering high quality psychological interventions alongside training and supervision to the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).

This is a dynamic and fulfilling role offering the opportunity to work across various areas of the Pain Service, driving innovation and service development to ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of our patient population within a progressive and person centred healthcare environment.

The post is managed within the Acute Psychology Department. You will join a group of 12 Consultants delivering psychology services across Clinical Health and Neuro psychology specialities, providing a supportive psychology collegiate.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Pain Management Program as Clinical Lead and provide psychology leadership for the secondary care psychology services.
• Shape and deliver psychological services across NHSGGC’s Pain Service.
• Provide expert clinical input, lead service development initiatives and supervise a clinical team offering high quality psychological interventions.
• Provide training and supervision to the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).
