About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the design and delivery of geotechnical solutions for infrastructure, energy, or civil engineering projects. The role involves both office-based design work and site investigation coordination , contributing to complex, high-value projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe .
Professional English is essential, as the position involves technical reporting, client engagement, and collaboration across international teams.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and interpret geotechnical site investigations
- Analyse soil, rock, groundwater, and geohazard data
- Produce detailed geotechnical design reports , risk assessments, and recommendations
- Design and assess foundations, retaining structures, embankments, slopes, and ground improvement solutions
- Perform geotechnical modelling and stability analyses using relevant software (e.g. PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Wallap)
- Support tendering, feasibility studies, and value engineering exercises
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal design teams
- Ensure compliance with local and EU geotechnical design codes (Eurocode 7, BS 8004, etc.)
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related disciplineMinimum 7 years’ geotechnical engineering experience (design and site-based)Strong working knowledge of Eurocode 7 , ground investigation techniques, and design of geotechnical structuresExperience with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, Settle3, gINT, Geo5, SLOPE / W, Wallap, etc.)Ability to lead technical work independently and manage small project teamsExcellent communication skills in Professional English (spoken and written)Willingness to work on projects across Ireland, UK, and EuropeFull right to work in the EU or UK (visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates)Experience with offshore, rail, or energy sector projectsKnowledge of ground improvement methods and geohazard mitigationFamiliarity with BIM integration for geotechnical data and designCSCS / SMSTS certification or equivalent (for site work)What We Offer
