Position Summary
We are seeking a High Voltage Electrical Design Manager to lead high-voltage design engineering activities, including both primary and secondary engineering, for major renewable energy projects such as photovoltaic plants, wind farms, transmission lines, and electrical substations. The Design Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international standards, managing technical teams, and guaranteeing quality, safety, and innovation in high-voltage designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead medium and high-voltage electrical design for renewable projects (PV plants, wind farms, substations, and transmission lines).
- Manage the Electrical Engineering team, assigning tasks and supervising performance.
- Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with civil, structural, and mechanical components.
- Coordinate design planning and scheduling, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Ensure all designs comply with technical and regulatory standards (local and international).
- Identify opportunities to optimize electrical designs to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in technical audits to ensure project quality and safety.
- Provide technical support to construction teams through remote assistance and on-site visits.
- Assess the technical and economic feasibility of electrical projects.
- Perform other activities as assigned by the Engineering Director.
Requirements
Education : Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience :
Over 6 years of proven experience in primary and secondary electrical design for high-voltage projects (substations and transmission lines).Experience in control, protection, and metering systems.Experience in commissioning and grid connection processes with the National Energy Commission (CEN).Proven track record in leading technical teams.Knowledge :
Strong understanding of electrical and energy standards in Chile and Latin America.Team leadership and project management skills.Software :
Required : AutoCAD, ETAP, Microsoft Office.Preferred : PLS-CADD, PowerFactory, DIALux.Languages : Advanced English (spoken and written) for international reporting.
Valued : Experience in electrical design for renewable projects (solar PV and wind).
