We are actively looking for a Business Unit Leader to join our Santiago office. The Business Unit Leader will guide the strategic growth of the established Santiago offices by leading efforts to identify, capture and complete projects in the ports, marine terminal, coastal, water resources / stormwater, transportation, energy, environmental, Federal, State, local, and urban development markets.
Overview
The best candidate for this role will lead the team to :
- Achieve Moffatt & Nichol (M&N) and client objectives; enhance client and employee satisfaction through effective business unit operations;
- Ensure staff management and development;
- Deploy and manage project resources, including subconsultants, vendors; and
- Provide oversight of project phases (planning, set-up, execution, and closure) while in conformance with M&N business and client contract requirements.
- Coordinate with the three M&N practices to identify additional markets and potential office locations within Chile.
- Manage and maintain resources within the offices, and work to continue to attract top talent in the industry for growth and to maintain client service

Lead the Business Unit to achieve Key Performance Indicators
Identify, evaluate, and pursue approved business and market opportunitiesDevelop and direct execution of strategy for office growth and staff resource expansionDevelop an Annual Operating Plan and Budget for the Santiago Business Unit, and manage the Business Unit to achieve planned resultsManage a project portfolio and coordinate with other Business Unit Leaders (BULs) to facilitate work share and mutual achievement of financial resultsAssist in promoting company-wide services across Chile and related marketsWork with PM’s and key staff in the preparation of comprehensive scopes of services with associated consulting fees; negotiate scope / fees with public and private sector clientsAdvise M&N on local business climate and trends, opportunities, changes in local A-E consulting practices (laws, rules, regulations, licensing, taxes), politics, and other issues pertinent to business operationsEnsure M&N policies, procedures, and any applicable legislation and regulations are communicated, understood, and implemented within the Business UnitEnsure Business Unit compliance to M&N Quality Management InitiativesProvide a safe and secure work environment by effectively managing the facilityNegotiate and execute corporate documents and other binding instrumentsIdentify obstacles to success and participate in improvement initiativesIdentify project pursuits and develop capture plans leading to successful project winsLead and ensure all projects and project managers meet Key Performance Indicators

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related civil / environmental infrastructure field; required20+ years’ experience in the consultancy addressing planning engineering design, infrastructure development, project management, client service, and business development; requiredProfessional Engineer registration in Chile or ability to receive thru reciprocity within 6 months; requiredDemonstrated leadership experience overseeing projects, staff, and client relationships; requiredA solid reputation with private sector clients as well as local and state government agencies, and a knowledge of coastal, water resources / stormwater, ports, marine terminal, transportation, energy, environmental, federal, or urban development markets throughout Chile; requiredProven success directing design and construction of a wide range of civil engineering infrastructure projects; requiredProven success in leading people and managing resourcesIn depth understanding of Santiago’s infrastructure and resiliency market t as it relates to M&N’s three Practice Areas : Water, Ports, and TransportationEstablished Santiago client relationships and knowledge of Federal, State and local government agenciesAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171Preferred education and experience
