Overview
We are seeking a IT BUSINESS SYSTEMS LEAD to oversee a team of analysts while also actively participating in implementing and supporting our tax technology solutions as we modernize our wholesale, e-commerce, and retail operations globally.
You will lead a team of analysts, mentor junior staff, and partner with Skechers business stakeholders to implement configuration changes, ensure compliance with tax requirements, manage data mappings, work with vendors, and oversee integrations into upstream / downstream systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Tax Technology Coordinators, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations
- Allocate resources and assign tasks to team members based on project needs and individual strengths
- Oversee the development of detailed tax technology requirement documents, functional specifications, and system design documents
- Conduct and guide thorough tax process analysis, identifying areas for improvement
- Facilitate and participate in requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders, translating tax needs into technical requirements
- Perform and oversee data analysis using tax data in different formats and from various platforms
- Validate results through quality assurance testing and coordinate user-acceptance testing
- Provide Change Management and training support for end users and maintain relevant tax technology documentation
- Lead tax technology integration projects with varying degrees of complexity and business criticality, partnering closely with various business units
- Perform risk management to minimize potential tax compliance risks, reporting and escalating issues to management as needed
- Identify and implement opportunities for tax process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains
- Create and review end-to-end tax workflow process diagrams, wireframes, mapping documents, functional specifications, ERDs, and logical data models
- Manage vendor relationships and facilitate communication between various cross-functional teams
- Track tax technology project performance and ensure successful completion of short and long-term goals
- Adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change based on project timelines and changes in tax regulations

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, computer science, information systems, or related field (Equivalent experience is acceptable)7-10 years of work experience in tax technology, with at least 2 years in a leadership roleExperience supporting full Agile and Waterfall software development lifecycles in a tax technology contextKnowledge and hands-on creation of key artifacts including use cases, user stories, workflows, ERD, user acceptance criteria, configuration stories, business / functional / technical specifications, timelines, roadmaps, Gantt charts and presentationsExperience in triaging tax application issues for multiple systemsStrong leadership and mentoring skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organizationAdvanced analytical capabilityExperience in Alteryx, Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, Smartsheet and Excel is a plusFluent in English and Spanish (bilingual requirement)Experience with tax integration mapping specifications is a plusKnowledge of major tax compliance software (e.g., Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Vertex, Avalara, Edicom, Pagero, Sovos, etc.) is highly desirableAdditional Details
