Overview
As a Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT), you will perform cycle audits, execute incoming / outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors, and document inbound and outbound deliveries. In this environment, you may be asked to travel for business to support other metros periodically, up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service : Maintain a strong focus on the impact of IAM tasks, ensure tasks are completed accurately and in line with company and contract requirements, understand stakeholder impact, communicate potential impact, and plan accordingly.
- Data Bearing Device (DBD) Destruction : Perform destruction of data bearing devices following SLAs and Microsoft policies; ensure DBD serial numbers match the database.
- Inbound and Outbound Logistics : Document inbound and outbound packages, execute deliveries as instructed, ensure accurate documentation, and apply appropriate customs documentation and standards for outbound packages.
- Inventory Management : Develop knowledge of stock control, perform cycle audits and data corrections, reconcile discrepancies, maintain physical inventory tracking and staging, and manage material movement per standard process.
- Operational Excellence : Follow procedures to run processes with consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Procurement : Notify management about stock shortages and escalate issues as needed.
- Safety Practices : Comply with security and data management policies, coordinate with security escorts, perform Task Hazard Analyses, and obtain required sign-offs for risk-related tasks.
- Tactical Shift Management : Perform tasks, escalate issues during high-volume periods, and seek guidance from management when needed. Travel up to 25% may be required.
- Warranty Process Management : Engage suppliers to initiate warranty claims when automation isn’t available, manage orders, process failed hardware through RMA channels, and meet related SLAs.

Qualifications
Required / minimum qualifications
High School Diploma AND 6 months of experience or internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Business-level fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard hours, evenings, nights, weekends and / or holidays.Travel up to 25% as part of the role.
Background Check Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check at hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.Additional or Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in warehouse / supply chain in an IT environment, IT, and / or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts) for a large corporation, or equivalent experience.Equal Opportunity
