Overview

Bechtel has a long history of delivering complex projects. The job is located in Santiago and involves 2-D / 3-D CAD design for control systems engineering, including instrument locations, wiring, and installation details. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design.

Major Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with approved Control Systems design standards, applicable installation codes, and regulations in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design.
• Reviewing and checking calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers / drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion.
• Assuming responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.
• Working with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
• Generating 2D drawings or 3D CAD design models of high complexity with minimal guidance from others.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires technical or bachelor’s degree related to the position and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
