Engineer, Process Control and Instrumentation – Join to apply for this role at BBA Consultants .
As an engineer in Process Control and Instrumentation at the Santiago, Chile office, you’ll be responsible for carrying out projects from conceptual design to construction, commissioning and operation for clients in the mining, industrial, energy and decarbonization sectors. You’ll have a high level of autonomy and, over time, will become the technical leader for a small team of project execution professionals.
Responsibilities
- Align operational technology (OT) needs with information technology (IT) solutions, manage multiple projects at once and build strong working relationships.
- Lead and structure meetings with multidisciplinary and multilevel teams and follow up with clients effectively.
- Carry out projects from conceptual design to construction, commissioning and operation for clients in the mining, industrial, energy and decarbonization sectors.
- Site visits, testing and commissioning at client sites, both in Chile and abroad.
- Prepare proposals, including scope, cost estimates and schedules.
- Prepare technical deliverables aligned with client requirements, ensuring high quality and technical compliance.
- Manage project work packages, including preparing budgets and schedules and tracking deliverables.
- Support business development activities across Chile to help generate and pursue opportunities in your field of expertise.

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, automation or a related fieldTen or more years of relevant experience, with at least three years at a consulting engineering firmPractical experience in instrumentation, control, automation or communication systemsHands-on experience with programming languages such as .NET, Python and PLC programmingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsBilingual (English and Spanish), both spoken and written, with the ability to draft technical documents in both languagesSolid experience in the Chilean mining industryAbility to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work regularly with our Canadian offices on project workWillingness to travel to client sites in Chile for work purposesStrong communication and soft skillsAt BBA, You’ll Get Many Benefits
