Overview
Belcan is seeking an Advisor / Consultant - Manufacturing and Supply Chain Engineer to work for our customers throughout México. As a subcontracted advisor through Belcan, you will deploy to our customers as needed to support projects related to Manufacturing and Supply Chain engineering needs. When critical project issues arise, this role will deploy to customers to assess, mitigate, consult, identify, and administer outcomes. You will be on site at customers and / or customer suppliers working to address manufacturing and supply chain challenges.
Job Duties
- Deploy and travel to the customer(s) as needed
- Act as an advisor and consult customer by working as a team member ensuring critical customer needs are met
- Troubleshoot major material process problems, evaluate scrap out-of-flow material, implement existing or develop new approaches and special projects to solve the issues
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, make suggestions involving the assembly process, machinery, tooling, gage alternatives, etc.
- Provide VSM (Value Stream Mapping), Lean, Kaizens, Cycle-time studies, and workload balancing
- Review, define, identify, analyze, and resolve PFMEAs and related documentation and data prior to on-site processing
- Present on-site information process, customer procedures, supporting documentation, forms, drawings, production, inspections, and quality resolution
- Develop and implement actions related to PFMEA and preventative / corrective actions
- Develop and complete RFTs (Right the First Time), time studies, cycle time, and MSA evaluations
- Write and update work instructions for new and existing parts
- Assist, edit, troubleshoot, and resolve needs within the manufacturing process, APQP processes, packaging and relocation support, supply chain, CNC machines and programming, tooling, components and parts, scrap management, etc.
- Communicate and interact with shop floor personnel, quality / process teams, customer management teams, material teams, purchasing teams and other engineers involved in the process
Required Qualifications
Professional DegreeBi-lingual in English and Spanish10+ years' experience as a Manufacturing and Supply Chain SMEMexico national citizenship or valid work visa / permitBelong to one of these tax regimens with active status : Persona física, Régimen Simplificado de Confianza OR Persona física, Régimen de Actividades Empresariales y ProfesionalesAbility to operate onsite independently to represent Belcan and support multiple parties (Customer / Supplier)Ability to travel as needed and deploy rapidly on short noticeExperience with Automotive / Aerospace / Industrial OEMs, suppliers, tooling, and machine operationsProven ability to assess deficiencies in manufacturing processes and troubleshoot complex manufacturability problemsExperience with short and long-term improvement projects and achieving consensus for process improvementsUnderstanding of KPIs and performance drivers of contracted workRoot cause analysis and lean methodologies to address throughput, quality, and capacity issuesPreferred Qualifications & Skills
