This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

Duties
- Serves as a Cyber Incident Responder and Defense Analyst senior specialist with responsibility to investigate, analyze, interpret, and respond to Cyber incidents in the assigned Area of Responsibility (AoR).
- Monitors specific networks and traffic to assist in data interpretation and analysis.
- Supports specific Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities related to log review and incident response processes to support Mission Partner and audit activities for RMF compliance.
- Applies a comprehensive knowledge of information security principles and methods to evaluate, recommend, implement, and disseminate IT security tools, procedures, and practices and Detect incidents using a variety of tools.
