Junior Legal Counsel

Overview

Provide legal advice to all functions of the organization to make business opportunities viable within a compliance framework in a timely manner as appointed by the direct manager. This involves legal matters related to vendor / customer contracts, projects, regulatory / municipal, corporate, etc. Identify risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them. Address directly low complexity matters, and medium complexity matters with supervision of the manager.

Responsibilities

• Build strong and close relationship with the different functions of the organization under the scope in order to ensure due and timely compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice on any branch of law to minimize legal risk while enabling the business effectively.
• Review customer and supplier contracts in order to ensure that the contractual conditions are in the best interest of the company within the legal parameters and in coordination with the functions involved.
• Support the Legal team in raising awareness of any risks related to changes in law affecting the business or any risk identified in the daily business.
• Monitor, analyze and share new regulation with affected functions.
• Others required by the direct manager.
