Checkr is seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineer to become part of our Software Engineering Team. This role involves integrating a recently acquired background check product into the Checkr ecosystem and developing it into a solid foundation for a comprehensive identity verification solution.

The Staff Software Engineer will oversee the near-term integration of newly acquired background-check solutions into Checkr. Responsibilities include working on data vendor integrations and developing the system into a long-term identity verification platform. The current background check solution includes multiple public APIs, public and internal portals, and numerous microservices.

At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. Individuals are expected to work from the office 2 to 3 days a week. Starting January 2026, hub-based employees will be expected to work from the office 3 days per week. In-office perks are provided, such as lunch four times a week, a commuter stipend, and an abundance of snacks and beverages.
