Job Title : Human Resource Generalist - Chile

Department : Human Resources

Reports to : General Manager- dotted line HR Manager USA

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

The Human Resource Generalist - Chile will report to the General Manager LATAM with a dotted line report to the HR Manager, providing confidential support in HR functions. The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, training, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for TNT.
  • Be aware of any health and safety infractions and report to Health and Safety.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the mining industry and the type of work our people deal with.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal customers and vendors.
  • Lead the administration internal team so we can have the office working in harmony.
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • You may be asked to travel to the site. National travels.
  • SUPERVISORY / MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Populate HR Bamboo with employee information, update.
  • Populate JDE with the information of the employee.
  • Send the communications for the company, with new hires, vacations, news, promotions, among others.
  • LinkedIn announcements for Job positions and LinkedIn news as TNT.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Onboarding templates, agenda, first day at the office, among others for the first day of the employee
  • Direct contact with Grant Thornton (Accounting Co and Remunerations) comments on incidents of the month, with changes in salaries, leaves of absence, any per diem or other information necessary to inform the employee.
  • Generate offer letters, job contracts, as well as addendums and Payroll forms, among other legal documents for employees.
  • Review Job descriptions with managers and update if necessary. Assist in job interviews, contact potential candidates, and generate interviews with managers according to their schedules, and generate minutes and tables with information.
  • Assist HR manager with disciplinary matters; disputes, and investigations; and any translation.
  • Handles general employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the HR Manager.
  • Maintains compliance with local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assists with all translations to transition handbook, policies, notices, programs, etc. to Spanish-speaking locations.
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of the Human Resources system and maintains employee files.
  • Immigration collaboration with employees when needed (assisted by lawyers)
  • Help to negotiate with Health Insurance every year.
  • Manage registrations with the health insurance department for new hires and terminations.
  • Assist with the Learning Management System and implement in Spanish-speaking locations.
  • Maintain LMS and update users and training as needed
  • Translate training and adjust to local laws and compliance.
  • Support Joint Venture including accreditation for site access and audits
  • Be part of the Committees of the company (Paritario, Bipartite and Psychosocial)
  • Organizing company events, get-togethers, and other parties that may be needed during the year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • SHRM-CP or other HR certification is a plus.
  • SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

  • Bilingual, proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
