The Director, Insurance & Claims at Fruitist is a strategic and operational role responsible for safeguarding Fruitist Holding’s global operations by managing end-to-end insurance programs and overseeing the claims lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Risk, this role ensures that the company’s insurance strategy aligns with its risk profile, supports growth, and meets stakeholder expectations as Fruitist Holding prepares for public listing.
Location : Remote / hybrid; based in Peru, Mexico, or Chile.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of global insurance programs, including Property, General Liability, D&O, Marine Cargo, Workers' Compensation, and parametric covers, Product liability, Cyber, Public company and Agricultural specialized cover.
- Lead insurance renewals and placements in collaboration with brokers and understand global Master Controlled Program (MCP) structure.
- Own the full claims lifecycle : validation, verification, and optimization of processes through resolution for insured and uninsured losses.
- Analyze claims data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for risk reduction, premium savings, or enhanced policy wording to capture loss history.
- Act as primary liaison with brokers, insurers, third parties, and legal counsel on claim negotiations and settlements.
- Support risk assessments to identify insurable exposures and advise business units on risk mitigation and insurance solutions.
- Assist with insurance disclosures, board reports, investor documents, etc.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, HR, Operations, Production, Commercial and IT to ensure insurance coverage aligns with contractual and compliance requirements.
- Maintain documentation for all policies and certificates to support audits and due diligence.
- Investigate alternative risk financing structures, including self-insurance and captives where appropriate.
- Manage staff.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, Risk Management, Finance, or Law; professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AIC preferred.8–12+ years of experience in corporate insurance and claims management, ideally within global or asset-heavy sectors (e.g., agriculture, logistics, food, manufacturing).Demonstrated experience managing global programs and working across multiple jurisdictions.Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.Experience using claims tracking systems, insurance platforms, and Advanced Excel for trend reporting.Ability to manage multiple high-value claims while meeting tight deadlines and compliance standards.Proficiencies & Success Traits
