Description

What you will contribute (key responsibilities)

Work with global Cloud Operations leadership and the new regional multidisciplinary team to :

Recruit, mentor and coach talent to develop long-term capability and capacity in the region

Facilitate and coordinate projects & BAU activities, leading and organising by example, delving into details where necessary.

Lead project meetings, identifying and resolving technical / functional / organisational problems / blockers.

Mobilising the regional and global team to solve challenges within a fast-paced, customer-centric, mission-critical environment, whilst remaining cognisant of strict regulatory / compliance and cyber security constraints

Day-to-day management and oversight of project execution, staffing / resourcing issues and escalations.

Frequently communicate with project stakeholders, senior management and client delivery teams

Grow the capabilities and value-add of the team through on-going staff development and building strong relationships with global leads / functions

Analyse existing business processes and systems and identify areas of improvement

Act as the bridge between the global and regional team, ensuring continuity of service, support coverage, SLA compliance, adherence to escalation protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Identify and drive to closure any operational gaps with a particular focus on metrics, automation, cost / risk, performance, reliability and cloud best-practices.

Identifying opportunities for cross-functional collaboration, optimisation of resources, streamlining of processes with a view to reducing technical debt, cost and increasing efficiency.

Understand, translate, and communicate business and technical objectives from multiple perspectives including client view, internal development view, and operational and support view

Act as the point of escalation to resolve any staffing, policy or administrative issues

What we are seeking (Attributes, Skills and Qualifications – required & preferred

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field of study or equivalent professional qualification

10-15 years of ITindustry experience, including 5-7 years of leadership and management of teams / departments spanning Business-As-Usual (BAU) support and project delivery

Proven experience of building-out and developing new teams, functions or capabilities

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

Consistent, professional, prompt and exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills (English)

Ability to recognise technical / resource / other risks and recommend mitigation approaches

Experience of cloud technologies and technically well-versed in the AWS ecosystem – certification would be a plus

Financial services industry experience and / or collection recovery system industry would be advantageous

Familiarity with different delivery methodologies, including waterfall, agile, scrum & kanban

Excellent inter-personal skills and comfortable establishing professional relationships especially remotely (electronic, phone, written)

A team player who brings a collaborative and positive attitude to our global team

Ability to deliver effectively in high pressure situations

Excellent troubleshooting skills and analytical problem-solving skills

High level of initiative with ability to work independently from management

Creativity and passion to analyse and solve complex problems

Ability to thrive as part of a large, global, diverse team with multiple stakeholders

Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and technical staff
