Overview

We are seeking an innovative and passionate Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join Feedonomics' fully remote Engineering team.

You will collaborate closely with a group of talented engineers to design, implement, and scale mission-critical infrastructure and services for our high-performance, data-focused SaaS platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable and highly available applications and services that meet business needs
  • Address infrastructure challenges through code, providing post-release support for applications
  • Enhance DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines to improve development efficiency and deployment processes
  • Design architecture options and guide solutions in collaboration with product owners and engineering leaders
  • Perform failure analysis and actively contribute to preventing repeat issues through insights and recommendations
  • Lead initiatives for Continuous Improvement across systems and infrastructure
  • Research and recommend tools, processes, and technologies that address specific business challenges
  • Provide industry expertise and apply best practices to improve engineering practices and processes

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in backend programming
  • 2+ years of proficiency in PHP (preferred), Python, GoLang, Java, or other backend languages
  • 2+ years of working with MySQL or equivalent database technologies
  • Understanding of database schema design and scalability solutions
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP, RPC, etc.
  • Background in Distributed Systems and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached
  • Strong familiarity with Linux operating systems and containerization tools like Docker
  • Skills in full-stack observability tools such as New Relic (strongly preferred)
  • Capability to perform time and memory complexity analysis
  • Expertise in DevOps practices (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical field
