Job Details
The Aquaculture Certification Program at SCS Global provides high-quality, 3rd-party auditing and consulting services worldwide. The breadth of the program’s operation ranges from small, family-owned shrimp concessions to large, vertically integrated salmon-producing corporations. Assessments involve document review, employee and contractor interviews, and on-site evaluation of field activities. Detailed assessment reports must be written and submitted on time. SCS provides ongoing training.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Plan and carryout onsite assessments of aquaculture operations against the applicable standards.Engage with stakeholders to explain the audit process and record and address any comments provided.Audit CoordinationSchedule and confirm audit date with clientPrepare and send client audit plan according to protocolsBook travel, hotel and transportation according to company policy, and submit expense reportsAudit ServicesAdhere to all quality and code of conduct standardsConduct audits using applicable checklists, forms, and toolsMaintain positive client relationships and respond to all client inquiries and concernsSubmit complete and accurate audit reports within established timelinesEnsure thorough client records are maintainedAttend trainings to maintain qualification to conduct audits; maintain training recordsMaintain up to date knowledge of applicable regulations and standardsRequirements
Minimum Qualifications
Experience auditing to social schemes such as : Amfori (Business Social Compliance Initiative - BSCI), Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code (including SEDEX SMETA), Fair Trade USA, Fairtrade International (FI), Goodweave (Rugmark), International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) – Code of Business Practice, Social Accountability International (SAI) SA 8000, Worldwide Responsible Apparel Producers (WRAP) – Code of Conduct, or ASC audits that include full assessment of social indicators.2+ years of experience relevant in a feed / animal nutrition related discipline in a production / manufacturing environment.Knowledge of local labor and human rights legislationSA8000, EICC Labor and Ethics lead Auditor course, OR APSCA Auditor training completionEnglish and Japanese language fluency.Valid passport.Driver’s license.Ability and interest in travel to remote locations. Auditing may require international travel and extensive hours in the field.Preferred Qualifications
Recent experience in 3rd party auditing to Aquaculture or similar standards.Demonstratable knowledge of relevant standards and auditing procedures.Documentation of successful training to ASC species standards.Evidence of lead auditor training course based on ISO 19011 principles.The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
